AMX-116S ZAKU IV S-TYPE (Illia Pazom Unit)

During the Haman War, the Neo Zeon forces developed the Zaku III with an updated numbering to outperform the Earth Federation Zaku types. However, it was the competing unit, the Doven Wolf, that secured itself as the next generation mainstay mobile suit. Due to the Zaku III’s reliable performance, many variations were informally developed, much like the Zaku II.

Versatility, ease of use, and reliability are all traits that are sought after in a new Zaku. But, what meaning is there in making a Zaku at a time when the mass production of the Zaku III was to be handed over to the Doven Wolf and the Geara Doga was about to appear as a general-purpose machine? Or, when new machines with high firepower were developed one after another and specialized Newtype units that utilized psycommu had become the norm?

The Zaku IV is a machine that inherits the concepts of the MS-05 Zaku, MS-06 Zaku II, and AMX-011 Zaku III. It maintains its high output, heavy armor, and high versatility as a high-end suit and can be outfitted with various units as tail options, allowing it to be converted to local warfare specifications with the need for significant modifications. Beam cannons that were once mounted around the waist and mouth are now concentrated in the head, where they can be used as a battery. It is also equipped with a large shield, two beam machine guns, and two beam knuckle dusters as standard equipment to ensure its basic combat abilities in close at mid-range combat. It has also been equipped with spare magazines and propellant tanks in various locations. The basic equipment layout is more mass-produced and more rational.

In addition to the commander specs, this exclusive unit for Illia Pazon is equipped with a space-use high mobility skirt unit, commonly known as “princess,” and at the same time can also operate funnels so that it is adjusted closely with the pilot.

Depicted above are various features of the princess unit. The lineart illustrates how the machine guns go in their cases, what the cases look like with the guns detached, and how the heat ax can be mounted to the shield. With its concentrated propulsion functions, the back skirt’s replacement (swap out) system supports all kinds of environments.

An early model of the Jagd Doga’s funnels, a set of six are equipped on the Zaku IV S-Type. Each funnel unit is equipped with twelve cluster missiles. A barrage creates a wall of heat sources, confusing psycommu pilots.
