As a special ship used by Kycilia, its details differ from the standard type, such as the shape of the bow and antenna, in addition to its coloring. The standard type uses triple barrel cannons as its main weapon, while the Purple Widow only has two barrels. Kycilia took command of the Purple Widow during the battle over the lunar city of Granada on January 3, U.C.0079. The ship is also equipped with nine twin barrel machine guns (eight on either side and one behind the bridge) along with four 14-tube missile launchers (two on either side of the bridge and two behind the bridge). The ship also boasts anti-ship missile launchers in the bow.
Typically able to carry up to 8 mobile suits thanks to its spacious hull, the Chivvay has mobile suit hatches on either side of the hull which fold downward.
