LARGE TRANSPORT SHIP YAPP
A large transport sent into the battle of Loum by the Principality of Zeon as a transport for mobile suits. It has a structure with a container-type storage on either side and can accommodate more suits compared with a Papua-class supply, but because of its size its mobile speed is slow and the number deployed is relatively small. One of the containers is able to hold a Gallop-class land warship. A ship is seen approaching a colony at Loum with Garma Zabi on board for him to carry out the mop-up operation of the Federation Forces. The layout of the ship resembles the experiment support ship Jotunheim.
An idea sketch drew early on. Yasuhiko stated that it is a large ship that can hold an entire Gallop land warship in the container. This large, mysterious ship was featured in the avant title of the First Gundam television series. A memorable cut depicted the early stages of battle during the One Year War is now linked with the Origin television series. At the time, there was neither a name nor design work so it was rare for something related to First Gundam to have a nod made. Fumihiro Katagi created the official design version based on Katoki’s sketch above.
