INSTALLMENT.01 DRAGOON 0086

It was the same as scrap when they were first provided with it, but the suit that was serviced and tuned up at the hands of DRAGOON’s skilled mechanics was beyond comparison with older suits thanks to its direct response and advanced controllability. In the cockpit of the hovering RMS-108, Lieutenant Degner Romeo was muttering to himself. Having fought with mobile suits as a former Zeon forces pilot, the Marasai suit was certainly familiar to him considering it was a successor to the Zaku.

“Lieutenant Degner, do you think the enemy is around here?”

The comm came from the Magella, an allied hover tank that was running along side him. “I haven’t seen any yet. Who knows where those damn Karaba dogs are hiding out? Don’t let your guard down, McMahon. It looks like they’re sending mobile suits out to the frontlines as well.”

“Roger!”

Universal Century 0086. Seven years have passed since the One Year War that stemmed from the Zabi Family’s ambitions. Humanity, who had long struggled for peace, was once agan about to be covered by the dark clouds of war. The conflicts between the Earth Federation Forces “Titans” led by Jamitov Hymem and the opposition organizations of the AEUG and Karaba had come to a head.

Degner, attached to the Earth Federation Forces 13th Autonomous Mobile Squadron, was currently carrying out operations near the Kilimanjaro base, a stronghold of the Titans. His mobile suit team was equipped with hover units and they descended from their Garuda mothership to search for the enemy.

We’re slaves to our masters in the military, men. Especially since we’re former Zeon survivors.

He remembered the words of Captain Hannibal, his superior officer. Just then, the enhanced sensors on his Marasai picked up the enemy. It was an RGM-79 GM II.

“Mobile suit detected at 10 o’clock! There’s two units, they’re forcing their way in. Follow my lead”

“Roger that, Lieutenant Degner!”

Skillfully dodging the beams fired off by the GM, the Marasai charged at full speed. When Degner locked onto the target and pulled the trigger, the Marasai’s vulcan gun let out a volley of hellfire. No mobile suit could withstand such an onslaught at close range. In an instant, the GM was riddled with holes and went up in flames.

Degner fired off his smoke dischargers to distract the enemy and continued to attack while moving at high speed. But, the remaining unit was not his enemy.

DRAGOON 13, combat veterans brought together for a disposable unit. In spite of that, they were unaware that Karaba’s main forces were gathering at Kilimanjaro.
