Richard Sims: Ensign in the Earth Federation Forces. He was awarded a medal for taking out three Zakus in his very first sortie. Later, he later takes out a Musai-class battleship on his own. After his unit is subsequently damaged in another battle, he struggles to find his company as he drifts through space. He sends out a Haro on a recon mission to check the situation near a damaged Zaku, hoping to utilize the backpack for oxygen.
PRINCIPALITY OF ZEON
【ジオン公国軍】
Burns: A Lieutenant in the Principality of Zeon forces. A typical military man with a wife and dog back home. His damaged Zaku was adrift in space with him wounded inside it, unconscious. Federation pilot Richard Sims made the decision not to jettison his air tank in order to allow him to survive. Burns wakes up in his medical capsule and asks him why he chose to save him. The response that he received is that it wasn’t him but rather Thunderbolt Station that did.
