BACKGROUND:

The third Crossbone Gundam unit. Due to delays in assembly work, it was going to be loaded onto a supply ship following Unit 1 and Unit 2 but an accident in U.C.0132 left it drifting in space for twenty years. Officially designated as the X-0 on-board the Manzana Flor, Font Beau incidentally called it the Crossbone Gundam Ghost on his own. The silver painting bears a close resemblance to the Vigna Ghina from the Cosmo Babylonia war and it is presumed to have been constructed as Berah Ronah’s personal unit. Naturally, it’s a machine of twenty years ago so the performance is also the same. At the time, the Crossbone Gundams were created as high-performance machines and their mobility has stood the test of time, however they’ve lost their offensive advantage. Though by engine output alone, it’s on par with the mass production unit Zoloat of the Zanscare Empire.

ARMAMENTS & FEATURES:

DUCT

Due to the Crossbone Gundam combining various experimental parts, the detail of the unit is not stable. Although the most obvious variation the X-0 has from the other units is the radiation duct in the abdomen, this part is presumed to control waste heat more precisely as thrust during more aggressive maneuvers. However, a noticeable effectiveness doesn’t seem to be apparent.

BUTTERFLY BUSTER

The butterfly buster’s name is derived from a folding, or butterfly knife. This armament was salvaged from the same supply ship as the X-0. Differing from the Zanbuster which separates the saber and rifle for different purposes, this variation uses a saber mode and gun mode. While the output is the same level as the Zanbuster, by U.C.0153 standards, it isn’t an average strength beam saber. From the technical side, it was created to test sufficient usability on the battlefield. Although six guns were supplied, including reserves for the three Crossbone units, it only exists qualitatively as an experimental weapon. Furthermore, it is not intended for two-sword fencing use.
