Splendid question. Editing is at least partially in progress, but it seems like Deacon is interested in pushing through a handful of other smaller projects first, like Revival of Zeon, which was recently released. I'm hoping focus will return to CDA once those are finished.

Got it, and Revival of Zeon is cool too!  Smiley

However I just can't wait any longer for CDA 5 onwards, I just want to read read read them all and I was trying to do the animes and several manga's all in order from 0079 to 0096.

Is there anyone out there with the text-only translation of CDA 5+ that I could read while looking at the RAW in the other hand?  I know that a person named AthrunZERO created a text-only translation for CDA volumes 5-9 i think back in 2008.  Is this something that exists out there that is accessible for download?

Any help would be appreciated!  Smiley

I'm with you on desperately wanting to read the rest of CDA, but there's nothing to be done about it but be patient and make known your support for the project.

Athrun ZERO is our translator for CDA, and while indeed most of the translation is complete (according to his project status thread: http://www.zeonic-republic.net/forums/index.php?topic=50.0), I don't know whether the text is independently available.

Thanks Martin... the info is greatly appreciated!   Smiley

I just wish we didn't have to wait so long for these scanlations to come out.  Don't get me wrong as I absolutely understand that everything takes time, patience and energy to complete, and I have great respect for what you are all doing here... but there are many of us that don't need it to be perfect when released, and are quite willing to just 'understand' what is going on from a rough translation in the small balloon boxes.  Smiley

Currently, I'm home on a leave of absence from work due to severely severed ligaments on my right foot.  I see that you have listed 'Photoshoping: Incomplete'.  I am pretty good with Photoshop and am willing to pick up a shovel and HELP speed up the work on CDA if you just give me a chance to assist.  If this is not done yet, you could send me the RAW of Volume 5 that you wish to use, I can clean out the balloon boxes with pshop and I can also add the english text as well.  I'm willing to use up time to assist you guys get this out the door, which will also help me accelerate my reading of the CDA in english.  I could literally polish off this aspect in a few days since I'm not going to work for many more weeks.

But if you don't wish to have others assist, I will still send out a friendly request to both Deacon or AthunZERO if they are reading this: Please consider pre-releasing the text-only versions of volumes too when translated, so that those who can't wait the full length of time for the final RELEASE can at least make due with TEXT in one hand and the RAW in another.  This would go a long way to helping many in the community!

*bows with respect to the whole creation process*

I've taken over all aspects of translation due to a considerable amount of mistranslations in said documents. I have a considerable amount of them translated (10/14 volumes), but Volume 5 and 6 copies from WINNY aren't up to snuff scan wise and I've been working on them myself.

As for text-only release... sorry, that's just not my policy. It poses too much of an issue theft-wise for material to be claimed as someone elses.

Why are we like demanding the ZC to finish this and that?? Don't ya know ZC is doing their best? It not like they are a huge company with hundreds mindless slave translating. Why can't we be patience? Remember ZC is doing this out of their free time. They could have spend it with friend and family...

Yes I dying to know what happening in Vol 5 but I also know ZC is not a paid job its a hobby of passion.

I agree with Deacon that releasing the text of our translations would be inadvisable. However, I wouldn't be surprised if we could use some Photoshop help, but you'll have to ask Deacon about that.

Thoughts, DB?

Far too anal retentive to allow any new help assist with them. No one seems to understand the simple directions I tell them when photoshopping anyways... it usually means me redoing everything in the end.

I understand.  My desire stems from watching the UC anime and trying to read the manga in the correct order depending on timeline.  I guess I'll just continue onwards in the timeline and come back to CDA as they are released.

Thanks for the reply, Deacon and crew.  I appreciate your time on this.  Smiley

I don't recall any demands in my original post.  If you re-read it you'll notice that I asked for the 'pre' release of the english translated 'text' for CDA 5 onwards so that a few of us could read it and not wait... as well I offered my services to assist Deacon and crew.  I didn't demand the Zeonic crew release CDA incomplete.  Seriously, if you consider my original post a demand, then you need to re-read it.

I'm willing to try out a few pages with your instructions as a sort of mini interview.  Smiley

What's the worst that can happen, if you don't like the few pshopped pages ... just don't return my calls.  Hehe.  If you like the end result, then ask me to do more.  I'm not looking for any sort of credit on this at all... I just want to read CDA.

Seriously, its up to you and I'll leave it at that.

@Deacon: Like he says, it couldn't hurt to give him a shot. If his work isn't satisfactory, then keep doing what you're doing. But if he can meet your specifications, then you'll have that much less work to do on this project, and we can probably move it forward more smoothly.
